"The one major flaw of this proposal, is simply that by their very structure, secret societies, tend to become, schools of perverts, weirdos, and occultists i.e. they tend towards liberalism by their inner essence"

This is indeed a side-effect of post 17th century secret societies, but i wager it is because they were rooted in beliefs that are liberal, and one thing leads to another. When you say the solution to this problem is to root them into some kind of charity or trade network you are merely defaulting to how societies operated in the medieval period, as guilds and monastic orders. Guilds formed an integral part of Medieval politics and monastic orders embodied the warrior archetype marrying it with piety.

One should note that there is only one example of a medieval society of gentleman being corrupted, and that is of the Knights Templar, who were accused of sourcery. The extent to witch such claims of sourcery are true is not verifiable. One could say documents and testimonies were forged/extracted to frame the society by the King of France.
